Lawsuits are so gay.

The other day we wrote about the recent lawsuit between the people of the Isle of Lesbos and the other kind of lesbians. It seems this isn't the only legal trouble homosexuals might be having. Some of our readers have alerted us to these other lawsuits aimed at the GLBTQ community...

Imperial Tobacco Group (one of the largest United Kingdom-based tobacco companies) is claiming that using the term 'fag' to refer to a gay person "insults the identity" of cigarettes in Great Britain, which are also known as fags.

Various levee construction companies across the globe are uniting to reclaim the rights to the word 'dyke'. One worker was quoted as saying "it has been usurped by certain ladies who have no connection whatsoever with flood protection".

The citizens of France are bringing a lawsuit in order to stop homosexuals from using the term 'gay', claiming it is a copyright violation of their trademarked phrase "Gay Paree".

Meanwhile, the remaining members of the band Queen are suing cabarets across the U.S. for using the term 'drag queen'. They themselves are being sued by the Borough President of Queens, New York who is being counter sued by the royal families of the world's monarchies and commonwealth realms.

In other news, the heirs of Robert LeRoy Parker object to use of the term "butch" to refer to certain lesbians, saying that it is offensive to train and bank robbers all over. Also, the heirs of Winnie the Pooh are trying to end the association of 'bear' and big, hairy gay men.

And lastly, the state of Idaho is trying to stop the International Day Against Homophobia (May 17) from using the acronym "IDAHO". (Larry Craig is counter-suing).

(Check into Evil Slutopia again for more 'totally gay' stuff as we prepare for I.D.A.Homophobia!)

I'm sorry, I can't see the phrase "heirs of Winnie the Pooh" without hearing in some E! voiceover --- "...who will someday receive the vast Pooh fortune." Or "We're here live from the back entrance to the Pooh estate."

Comedy gold.
