Make Music NY - TODAY

We just wanted to take a quick minute to let all of our readers from the New York area know (if you don't already) that today is Make Music New York...

Make Music New York is a unique festival of free concerts in public spaces throughout the five boroughs of New York City, all on Monday, June 21st.

MMNY takes place simultaneously with similar festivities in more than 327 cities around the world — a global celebration of music making. From 11 in the morning to 10 at night, musicians of all ages, creeds, and musical persuasions — from hip hop to opera, Latin jazz to punk rock — perform on streets, sidewalks, stoops, plazas, cemeteries, parks and gardens. From high school bands to marquee names, MMNY is open to anyone who wants to take part, enjoyed by everyone who wants to attend. [makemusicny.org]

One of the greatest things about New York City is that we have such an eclectic music scene... so we can't wait to see what MMNY has in store for us today. Go here to check out the schedule. You can search by neighborhood, venue, artist, or genre of music. There's something for almost everyone!

What a wonderful way to celebrate the Summer Solstice... listening to music outside in the beautiful weather. Hope everyone in the area is able to check it out, even if that just means passing by on your way to or from work.
